The Iowa State University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Student Council is pleased to announce the newly elected 2018 executive officer team. The officer team will provide leadership for an organization that serves as a unifying body among the students of CALS and the senior administration of the college. The council is composed of representatives from 35 agriculture and life sciences-related member organizations.
A group of College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) students successfully completed the semester representing the college as a CALS Ambassador. CALS Ambassadors is a highly selective group of students tasked with assisting in the recruitment of new undergraduate students to the college.
A total of 385 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater student-athletes representing all 20 of the institution's varsity sport programs were named to the 2016-17 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Honor Roll, which was announced Monday, July 31.
Agriculture Business Club receives top prize at Agricultural & Applied Economics Association meeting
Members of the Iowa State University Agricultural Business Club traveled to the Agricultural & Applied Economics Association (AAEA) meeting where the club was named Outstanding Club. This is the 13th time in 15 years that the club has received the organization's top awards. Dr. Georgeanne Artz attended the meeting with students and serves as adviser of the club.

Ripon College Dance Team Takes DII and DIII Pom Collegiate Championship at 2014 Wow Factor Sports Nationals
The Ripon College Dance Team was named the Division II and III Pom Collegiate Champions and first runner-up in the Division II and III Jazz Collegiate category at the 2014 Wow Factor Sports Cheer & Dance Nationals, held February 7-9 at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
Ten University of Wisconsin-River Falls students participated in the 2012 National Collegiate Meat Animal Evaluation Competition hosted by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln March 14-16. Sixty-two contestants from eight universities took part in the 2012 event. Members of the UWRF team included:

The following students from the area have been accepted to the University of Wisconsin-Stout and will be offered a $1,000 automatic, one-year scholarship if they meet or exceed the following criteria: rank in the top 50 percent, with a 3.2 GPA for high schools that do not rank, and have a composite ACT score of 22. Selection will be determined based solely on academic qualifications and of those who apply by Sunday, Jan. 15.
